Why Choose a Chinese Pallet Stacker Crane Manufacturer?

A pallet leaves storage, a few components are picked, and the remaining stock goes back. The next production order calls for another pallet. Meanwhile, finished goods are waiting to enter the warehouse.

For a manufacturer, this repeated handling can become a more pressing problem than finding additional storage space. The warehouse holds enough material, but getting it to the right process takes too much work. Counting pallets dispatched each day understates the workload because partial picking and returns generate movements of their own.

Pallet Stacker Cranes are well suited to this kind of sustained activity. They use mature storage and retrieval technology to serve production and picking operations within a planned rack layout. Once a customer has established that the approach suits the building and workload, the purchasing question becomes quite specific: which manufacturer can deliver the required performance at a reasonable total cost?

Chinese manufacturers deserve consideration on that basis. Their attraction is the balance between established technology and competitive pricing, supported by a comprehensive industrial supply chain. Actual projects show where that balance has practical value.

Count the Movements Behind Each Order

In precision manufacturing, a warehouse may be asked to supply assembly, receive material back from testing and release another batch. A single order can therefore create several warehouse tasks before a finished product is ready to ship.

This was the operating context of a DELIECN project for a compressor and pump manufacturer. The installation combines a one-rail dual Pallet Stacker Crane system with RGVs, conveyors and mobile transport equipment, supporting component storage, picking, production delivery and return-to-storage.

Putting two cranes on one rail is an engineering choice that needs to be understood through the work assigned to them. It introduces another machine to share the aisle workload, along with the need to manage working zones, interference and collision prevention. Its usefulness depends on the distribution of tasks and transfer points. Simply doubling the number of cranes would be an unreliable way to estimate output.

For a customer with frequent picking requests, the more revealing discussion concerns what happens after retrieval. A pallet may remain at a station while several components are selected. Another may be ready to return while the next request is already waiting. Buffer positions and transfer scheduling determine whether the cranes can continue working during those intervals.

The project connects WMS with MES and ERP, so warehouse tasks can follow production requirements and inventory records can follow physical movements. DELIECN reports an 80% improvement in goods-to-person efficiency across the installation. The useful reference is the complete arrangement behind that figure: cranes, transfer equipment, picking and software working together.

At 31 Metres, the Load Deserves More Attention Than the Catalogue

A buyer storing heavy production materials has a different starting point. Before discussing picking frequency, the supplier must understand what will sit on the forks and how it will be supported.

For a battery aluminium foil manufacturer, DELIECN supplied a system using 31.6-metre ultra-high heavy-duty Pallet Stacker Cranes. Loads range from 500 to 2,500 kg, and customised carriers form part of the installation.

The weight range matters. Designing around the heaviest pallet is necessary, but it does not settle the arrangement for every other material. Carrier dimensions, support points and permitted storage positions still need to agree with the rack and handling equipment. A loaded carrier has to pass through the entire system reliably, including the transfers where one device hands it to another.

There is also a substantial building commitment. Conventional rail-guided cranes need regular aisles and rack positions, with foundations and floors engineered for the relevant loads and tolerances. High storage and heavy materials place demanding requirements on that structure. These checks belong near the beginning of the project, while the layout can still be changed.

Experience with an installation of this kind gives a supplier something concrete to bring to a new discussion: how conveyor design, stacker crane selection and storage arrangements were resolved together. For an overseas customer, examining those decisions is more informative than comparing maximum payloads alone.

Industry Experience Helps Avoid Expensive Assumptions

The handling unit is an early decision with long consequences. In an automotive components warehouse, using a pallet movement for every small picking requirement may create unnecessary work. Some materials belong in bulk storage; others need frequent access in smaller quantities.

A DELIECN electrical connector project serving automotive and other manufacturing applications combines Pallet Stacker Cranes with Tote Four-Way Shuttle Robots. It handles more than 9,700 types of automotive components. The mixed equipment arrangement reflects the different quantities and forms in which materials need to be stored and retrieved.

Pharmaceutical production presents another division of work. Packaging materials are consumed by the lines, while finished goods arrive according to production output and leave according to release and dispatch requirements. In a DELIECN pharmaceutical installation, pallet stacker cranes, shuttle robots, Lifters and conveyors serve these different flows, with separate provision for packaging and finished goods storage.

Neither application calls for copying a previous layout. Their value is in the questions they bring forward before equipment is ordered. Which materials require frequent access? Which movements can be grouped? Where does production need a buffer? Answers affect the equipment count, software rules and cost of the installation.

Why the Chinese Quotation Can Be More Competitive

A pallet stacker crane project draws on steel fabrication, machining, drives, controls, racking and conveying equipment. China's industrial supply chain provides a broad manufacturing base for these activities. A capable supplier can coordinate sourcing and production within that base, while drawing on established assemblies and engineering methods.

This creates room for a competitive quotation at the same agreed technical standard. The comparison needs to preserve that standard through to acceptance: identical load requirements, peak workload, component specifications and delivery scope.

Self-development and in-house manufacturing add another practical advantage. DELIECN develops equipment and WMS/WCS and manufactures equipment within its own organisation. When a carrier or transfer arrangement changes, mechanical, electrical and software teams can address the consequences together. Responsibility for those interfaces is easier to locate, and project feedback can reach the people who design and build the next system.

For the customer, the financial benefit should appear in a complete offer. Freight, installation, commissioning, training and overseas service must be included wherever they are required. A competitive stacker crane price is useful only if the cost of putting it into dependable operation remains competitive too.

The strongest reason to buy from a Chinese pallet stacker crane manufacturer is therefore a verifiable combination: relevant engineering experience, proven equipment and a well-defined delivered price. Start with the factory's actual movements, compare suppliers against the same requirements, and the value of that combination becomes much easier to judge.
